It's up to Timrod to take control of idiots (Raijin, Gala, Dr Death, etc...) and Ant P should be a moderator there. The board's source is highly acclaimed for being original, and I'll give it that, but Aqua's capable of much faster and all around better code. He just needs more confidence. 7/10 Archetype Zero It may not be fair of me to rate my own spinoff, but I will anyway. The users here are a mix of whiteFyre, Outboards, and God knows what. Source was efficient on localhost, but not on a website. That's why I'm rewriting it (almost done by the way). The moderators aren't the most well known (save Magus) but I'm fairly proud of the job they've done. They've given BRM a sort-of authority to defy. 7/10 CABLE I originally detested this place, trolling and disrupting it in June 2003. But after it was taken down by force (thanks P and J) I missed it. When Mt0 brought it back, he made the worst decision ever. The users are MBH/CE people who've never seen a spinoff before and therefore think CABLE > all. The source is Mediarchive, although Calvin has claimed to have made many advancements upon it. He's also writing a "beta" source which looks... eh... @[email protected] 5/10 Flying Turkey Haven't been there, can't say. N/A gg's Boards Haven't been there in the longest while. N/A Outboards Shitty code, an administration that just doesn't give a shit (save duck and gas), and a userbase of both intelligence and nescience. It's been that way since the time I registered there, yes, but I didn't realize to what degree it was until March. Jay (when he was there) was in no mood at any given time to make major improvements or even a rewrite of or to the source, the administration did not implement any new ideas in a timely fashion or at all, Virtue was being handed out almost too easily, and certain people who shall remain known simply as the "Vitality whores" ruined any witty or insightful posts within any given topic. Perhaps I am overreacting (and I know this'll probably be posted over there, sigh) but I just don't see how people still allow for this to be the most active and "best" spinoff. But I'm not in a position to give a rating. N/A Special Ops Although this is mainly Ant P's coding test range, it's certainly a decent spinoff by itself. The users there have the same AKNet mentality which ensures some humourous posts, but with less of an amount of posts. Despite Ant P being by far the best PHP programmer I have ever seen, SO's source is still pretty shotty. P is a perfectionist though and I'm sure his SO 2.0 will blow away anything I could ever imagine to code. 8/10 Twisted Legacy Rampage is the sole reason for TL's success. His personality makes him a very likable person and despite TL using a _very_ poor source, it remains strong and popular. The userbase is for the most part intelligent and there is practically no animosity amongst anyone there. 9/10 whiteFyre For the select amount of decent people there (INFERNO, Cyril, XSO, KSOT, etc) there are tenfold the amount of fucking retards. uG doesn't care about it, nor does he want to change it. So ignorance flourishes while intelligence becomes more and more sparse. | One thing I don't like about Onion is that he's so anal about source codes. If the script doesn't proccess in under .00005 seconds then it's inefficiant. Or something not being proper XHTML. I did his personality for the most part though. --- |
