Problems getting disc 2 to run!! *spoilers?*

| Hi... I'm playing FF7 for the first time.... I got to the end of disc one. I saved, and then when it told me to put in disc 2 I did... then the screen went black. But then it came up again saying to put in disc 2. So I took it out and put it in again and the same thing happened. It's like it refuses to recognise disc 2 as disc 2. Does this make any sense?? Could my save file be corrupted or something? Any advice would be appreciated. --- ::evil laugh:: Me? Why, I'm the Parrotman! |

| I know it may be an offensive question if I'm wrong, but are you sure you're using disc 2? Make sure you're not accidentally using disc 3. Other than that, I really have no ideas other than the disc being ruined. --- Does my signature look big in this? |

| Yep, it's definitely 2 (no offense taken). Well, I cleaned it with some rubbing alcohol and let it dry and put it in and the same thing happened. >.< WTF? Do I have to track down another copy to move on?? --- ::evil laugh:: Me? Why, I'm the Parrotman! |

| I had a similar problem, all I did was wet a cotton ball and wipe it from the middle and out, NOT in a circle, that worked perfect for me. --- Gotta suck a chode and the party's on!!! |

| i DONT know if this will work for you too, but my disc 2 is tottaly screwed, and when i finished disc 1, I inserted 2 and my screen would go black. After it went black, i would open the disc tray and insert disc 3....REALLY FAST...and it would work.....w/ disc 2 story line!...im in disc 3 now....normally --- |

| How many save files do you have? Do you have one from before the 'Swap disc' save? If so, load up that, and get to that point again. It might be the save, but it sounds unlikely ... --- XBL / PSN: Yatesl Latest game: Spectrobes (DS) / Q*bert (PSN) |

| toothpaste cures all disk decay ya i noticed ff7 had alot of corrupted disks that would ruin your saves you can even kill your ps2 with it if you try hacking the game i would say try and restart the game on someone elses disk --- Cloud- lvl 76 hp 9999 mp 654 Vincent lvl 72 hp 9999 mp 765 Yuffie lvl 76 hp 9999 mp 534 |

| Well, I spent several hours playing an old save file up to this point in the game... and it's still happening... so it's not the save file. I guess that just leaves the new PS option... I'll have to see if I can get ahold of one here soon. --- ::evil laugh:: Me? Why, I'm the Parrotman! |

| ****. Still no luck... I borrowed my a PS2 slim and tried it. Still same problem. Different copy of the game. Different save file. Different Playstation. Still asking for Disc 2 after I put it in. I'm wondering if it's the PS2 slim this time around, though. It made some weird noises and I could barely get the lid to close after I put in disc 2. | Alot of people i know (including myself) have had major issues getting disc 2 to run on a ps2, i have tried a new sealed copy of ff7 and still it crashes at points and refuses to load after a scene change. I went as far as to buy a new ps2 and still the same thing, i so badly want to 100% this game and have struggled my way through disc 2 with constant crashes to the last battles of the disc and still i crash out!! How did you solve your problem??? --- That freight train that hit you.............That was ME! |

| And just for the record THEPUNISHER325 you good sir were correct !! i was at the re entry to midgar on disc 2 when it started crashing so out of interest i put in disc 3 and it continued as normal! Genius!!! --- That freight train that hit you.............That was ME! |

| What brand is your Memory Card? Honestly, it doesn't make sense, but when I was playing Legend of Dragoon, I had a cheap memory card, and the screen would go black after the boss fight at the end of Disc 2. Then I put it on an actual Sony Memory Card. And it worked. I still have no idea why to this day, but it's worth a shot.
