40,000? I dunno, I find that number a bit hard to believe.

Why? There at least 60,000+ contributors. Sure not all of them have guides but those that do rarely just have one.

I would have liked to get 40,000, considering I just submitted my first new FAQ this year. Still waiting for content review. Hopefully Jeff takes Thanksgiving off and lets the backlog gain a head of steam.

Number of FAQs actually online...

October 2003 = 23,000
October 2004 = 28,600
November 2005 = 33,400

The figures aren't precise, because I can't spot texts that have been removed until the author updates or writes something new. The discrepancy between the total number online and the 40,000 presumably reflects the fact that about 20% of FAQs have been removed at some point after posting, but their unique numbers not reused.
